Our Experience

  Our team have over a decade of practical experience in applying Needs-led Innovation across a diverse range of sectors nationally and internationally. 


EBN Lab and EBN Learning are based on the insights and experience gained from applying the process with a range of organisations, from academic teams to large multinationals.

Eilís is an Innovation and Design Strategist with over 15 years' experience in Design Thinking and Innovation Management. Her passion is around creative problem solving and identifying Evidence-Based Needs to create and develop innovative business models, products, services and processes. 


In 2020, She co-founded Insight Innovate alongsid

In 2020, She co-founded Insight Innovate alongside Sean McNulty. 

Insight Innovate partners with ambitious teams and organisations to embed a systematic process to identify and validate unmet needs for growth opportunities. 


Eilís is an experienced researcher. She has undertaken research projects both nationally and internationally. She is trained in a variety of research approaches, ranging from literature reviews to ethnographic research, interviews and focus groups.

In 1991 Sean McNulty, founded Dolmen, an internationally award-winning design and innovation consultancy. Sean is a hands-on Innovation Practitioner - from software multinationals to the BioInnovate Programme, from Dublin to Trinidad, Sean has hands-on experience of driving innovation through organisations including IDA, SFI, & Enterpris

 

In 1991 Sean McNulty, founded Dolmen, an internationally award-winning design and innovation consultancy. Sean is a hands-on Innovation Practitioner - from software multinationals to the BioInnovate Programme, from Dublin to Trinidad, Sean has hands-on experience of driving innovation through organisations including IDA, SFI, & Enterprise Ireland. In 2021, he co-founded Insight Innovate, which is a training consultancy that focuses on partnering with organisations to apply systematic processes around the identification of evidence-based needs. 

Sean has played a central role in the development of the ISO 56000, ISO 56002 and the ISO 56001 over the past 7 years. Sean has been Chairperson of the NSAI Innovation Committee and on the international working group for the development of ISO 56000 and 56002. Sean has also led the national team in the development of ISO 56001, a certifiable Innovation Management System standard due for publication in 2024.

Ronald is a management consultant specialising in innovation and digital systems. He has a background in, organisational learning, design thinking, digital innovation and change management. His work takes him across the UK and Europe, working with the public, private and third sectors as part of multi-site and multi-organisation partners

 

Ronald is a management consultant specialising in innovation and digital systems. He has a background in, organisational learning, design thinking, digital innovation and change management. His work takes him across the UK and Europe, working with the public, private and third sectors as part of multi-site and multi-organisation partnerships. He maintains an academic connection through his work at the Open University Business School where he teaches sustainable innovation.  

He is Director at RoughBounds, specialising in working with small organisations to design innovative digital solutions. Over the years, he has set up many commercial and social enterprises at an operational and strategic level. These include the UK's first Organic Food, developing small-scale software systems for tracking goods as part of a franchise model,  a community company that recently developed a renewable energy scheme and a model,  community-owned primary school Executive Director and Chief Learning Officer TC Alliance, an aviation innovation support company.

From his first job in 1992, innovation has been the common thread running through 29 years of Colin’s experience. 

Between 1998 and 2001 as a founder and COO of a VC backed spin-out company Colin developed one of the earliest email and network integrated malware scanners from concept to customer, which remained on the market for 2 decades

Between 1998 and 2001 as a founder and COO of a VC backed spin-out company Colin developed one of the earliest email and network integrated malware scanners from concept to customer, which remained on the market for 2 decades. 

Between 2003 and 2005, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies in the UK and USA, Colin developed online based tracking processes, which have since been adopted by the marketing sector. After undertaking a number of smaller product and service development and commercialisation projects, between 2008 and 2013 Colin gradually switched from being an innovative entrepreneur to supporting others in their innovation activity through consultancy and business development support.
